Here is a better question. With the new oscmax, can we set certain products to specific customer groups? If so how many groups can we set up in the system? Can we query a new customer to be automatically assigned to a customer group when they sign up for the first time?

    thanks!

Just thought of something else! If there is an advance search on the home page that forces a visitor to search for a product - then they can select which "geographic area" the product is associated to and then go to results page for products in that area! Probably a bit ghetto - but maybe it'll work

And then once they get passed the results page they'll have the option to create an account which then can associate them to a specific customer group. But that still leaves me wondering if there is a way to associate a new member to a customer group automatically when they sign up for the first time (based on a variable...)

Anyhow, if they're not logged in, then they see an advance search box which forces them to choose a state, to bring up results of a their search. But if they are logged in, then they will see the normal navigation, home page, etc..., as a customer group person...
