I've received payments that include no order information and the order was not displayed in the admin.

I've received payments that include no order information and the order was not displayed in the admin.
Any idea what the problem is?
Yep - your customers completed their transactions but did not click to return to your store from PayPal ... this therefore means that the store did not receive the notification it needed to confirm the order.
Try using recover cart sales tool to cross reference the order values to your customers orders.
It is a common issue for PayPal users ... you may want to try IPN (Instant Payment Notification) instead.

PGM, PayPal WPP allows direct input of credit card details from the website, as opposed to at PayPal, so functionality is different. Also, there are differences in charges.
My UK client with WPP occasionally has the same thing occur on an osC site - a pain in the butt, to trace the order and add back in - just wish I could get 'Max UK WPP to work, then I could migrate them!
There are a couple of things to try - do a search.
Add a warning message on the payment section of your site to instruct the user to return from PayPal.
See recent osCommerce contrib. that adds the order to a temp table prior to payment. This might be a good contrib. to add as a standard feature.
