template help, please

i would like some advice on converting an osc 2.2ms2 template to bts and oscmax?, is has the reg global issues, i try to the workaround, no joy just screwed the code up, try the convert addon, did the same, i am doing something wrong?

here's the template or design i want to copy, i do have the full osc template for ms2



i have a very hard time trying to convert this to a usable template,

i will be installing featured products and have the new product for convert to static or random,

i wondering if the purchase of a preformed osc template would be the best way to get on and mod to bts????

that said i will try recreate the template if i could get an better example of the a bts temple to pull apart

any help would be great has anyone built a bts or converted a template from ms2 version

not sure but the longer and yet more compliant approach will be to use oscmax 2.04 and re-design your template to match was your site looks like on your osc 2.2ms2. Meaning use your stylesheet, photoshop and custom contributions compliant with oscmax 2.04 to get what you want.

so what you are saying you have to start from scratch with most if not all templates you purchase or if you have to update from ms2 to oscmax, ?????

There is a guide to converting in the wiki. Although, I have not used it so can not vouch for it's accuracy.

Since most templates are simply the images you should be able to convert these into your oscmax store quite easily.

However, I would recommend that if you are going to purchase a template that you get one designed for oscmax in the first place as it is easier in the long run.

just a thought pg, the cotton barn template you said you where working on, is that still in the on the cards for me to pull to bits or have you shelved it?

if you have not i would be grateful for a copy, for learning purpose

the aabox template is OK but its not the best as most sites that i have seen look very like cotton barn

by the way i do i le your rotating banner on the home page, that something i am working on, any links to code?

The "colours" box is simply a relabelled manufacturers box.

I am still working on my template but it will be released to the community soon - I am also working on some other stuff for v2.1 so you will have to wait a bit longer!

i aprecheated the work you are putting in, i am at prestent trying to create a bts template from a template i download, once i have had a a go at trying to make it compatable with bts and oscmax, can i send you the main tpl fiel for you to check teh code, if you have the time???
