    Question New Account filtering

I was wondering if anyone can tell me if it is possible to change the account activation from automatic, to me having to approve the new account before it is activated?

    Thanks.

Yep - have a look at oscommerce contributions ... most of them are compatible.

There are two ... not sure which is best ...

    member approval

Dis/Approve customer - Couldn't find the code for this one!

Be absolutely sure that you want/need this approach, as it could easily be detrimental to sales on your site.

Thanks guys for the help. I actually have to use this approach to satisfy requirements for the manufacturers I'm representing. I have to ensure applicants are legit companies before allowing access to pricing.

    Have a great week!!

Update for Member Approval...I went with member approval 1.7 from the options pgmarshall suggested and I keep getting a "No Right Permission Access" when I press to activate the account.

    Any suggestions?

I'm not that familiar with that end of the process, could you elaborate as to what I'm looking for there? Thanks.

Everything is green in the Admin/File Access. I am the top admin. and I have even checked the .htaccess files and called tech support for my host. Any other suggestions?

    Smile Re: New Account filtering

    ConsGift,

You need to be aware that because osCmax has admin user levels installed any contributions you install for the Admin section need to be authorised for use.

You need to go to Administartor --> File Access -->

If the contribution has its own box you will need to select the row and click the green button to enable the box.

THEN, you will also need to store the files that the users can access.

So, make sure the correct box is selected then click "Store Files" on right hand side.

The page will change to show the files available in the currently selected box ... Select the new .php file for your contribution from the drop down box ... Click Save.

    Repeat for all required files.

You can then set the access to this new file in Admin --> Member Groups --> Groups --> New Permission

I know this seems long winded but if you are running a commercial store this user admin access level is very useful ...

Hope this sorts your issues out ...

    Regards,
