    Default Image sizes in oscMax

    My images in admin and catalog are stretched to the full allowable width. I reduced the size of the image and it shows the same way without any changes.

    What is the problem?

    Did you change the image setting in ADMIN or change the file? If in admin you have image width to 100% then it will stretch it to 100% of available space.

    Is the value to change in % or pixels in the admin images section.

    I had changed the size of the image file that I uploaded to the server.

    100 would be 100 pixels - 100% would be 100% of available space.

    Changing the Image means nothing if told to take up 100% of space (other than better/worse resolution).

    How do I change the image % setting in ADMIN?
    I see the setting for pixels. Right now it is at 100 W, 80 H.

    Admin -> Configuration -> Images...

    Leave blank for actual image size. Normally people leave ether height or width blank to keep pics in proportion.

    I left the width blank and I got an image of 80 H X 1 W... tiny vertical line.

    I left H and W blank and I got good images...

    What should I watch for if no maximums are set up?

    Width then worked - however I am sure then height is not blank - it has a space or non-null value or is set to 1

    As I stated most people have one value - the other is blank (not sure but if both blank it should show the image as it is and not re-size them)

    Page formatting...If you base your layout on having a certain width(or height) - then you have image that take more than there fair share then it might look poor (inconstant) or people have to scroll in 2 plains(up/down and left/right) and not one(normally up/down).
