    Exclamation Controlling Inventory Question...

If I have store inventory items with unlimited supply from my distributor and a fixed limit (physical count) in warehouse- how can I use osCmax to keep track of inventory?

Have i overlooked something or a Contrib?

Also, when an item reaches a "zero" item count can I have it set to not display to a customer?

    Thanks,
    Dale

Set the item to track stock via the attrib. Then edit the item and the STOCK button is shown to enter your stock level .... As a default if NONE available - I think it does not show. If you order MORE than available then give a note that some item are back ordered.

The Contrib still shows the item- but you can set it to not allow to checkout.

My issue is two-fold. Maybe I need to start two topics?

#1 - How can osCmax allow unlimited items (from my vendor) and limited items (in stock at my warehouse) to work so I can get accurate reports to inventory?

Example: "Product A" I have unlimited count from my distributor and "Product B" I only have 3 in stock. I don't want to put 99 in the stock field because then when I run an inventory count my numbers are screwed up.

#2 - When an item reaches Zero in stock- can osCmax not display the item in the shopping cart?

I can't be the only one having this problem. Is there a solution or Contrib I missed during my search?

    Thanks in advance--

    Dale

Unlimited items - put stock to say 9999999.
Limited items with stock - update stock level - or use imported data....

    Don't display zero stock....

    Some things to look at....
Stock level 0 - not view (person who made it is Spanish).
    Show Sold Out Items
Disable Add to cart button if stock 0 or price 0 and display Out Stock
    No Stock, No Checkout
    Display Out Of Stock Buttons

    or my fave
    Free Call For Price

    And there are may more...

JPF... Thanks for the assist. I will see about the "Stock level 0" - I don't speak Spanish either. =)

    Wow.. quoting myself.

The "Stock 0" gave me the middle finger. It's a simple one statement cut & paste "fix" that didn't work- but generates its own error. There is no forum thread dedicated for it. I'll take a peek at the other Contribs.
