    Default Problem removing state

First of all, great stuff oscmax. I had some trouble with installing the "normal" oscommerce, but this one works fine!

Although I like to resolve problems myself as much as I can, I don't seem to find an answer to this specific issue I have encountered.

Basicly I have the same problem as in this topic (which seems to have been locked, without an answer): Problems removing state

I switched of state/province in the admin panel, but as a result users have to fill in there information twice (reload of the register page).

Anyone knows how to fix this?

    Thanks!

I can turn off the "state" field and do not have to refresh the page. I click the submit button when creating an account only once, and it correctly creates the account. Can you elaborate on the exact settings of your site?

Hi Michael. I don't really have any specific settings. I didn't do anything to alter the state/country stuff.

I put the input field for state to 0 now, and trying to figure out a way to remove the asterix next to the field, which should be fine.

Other suggestions are of course always welcome.

Hello, to turn off the State field, you go to the admin panel and under Configuration >> Customer Details >> State >> False

You do not have to set it to 0, nor edit any code, you set it to False. That will turn off the field.

Next, to remove the asterisk, just edit the template for that file = create_account.tpl.php should be the correct template.
