Affiliate Banner links

I have searched high and low and can't find anything on this one..

I have started to use the affilate program and am promoting it heavily to my peers..

I built several banners and they all show up and appear to be registering the affilate connection.

BUT.. when I look at the code that is generated, it is showing all the hex code for the < > & and ? (both the banner code and the per item code)

I use MSFP and when I pasted the generated code in the HTML view, then switched to the normal or preview screen it displayed the hex code & HTML and not the banner and certainly not the link. If I used the "insert html code" feature, it pastes the code, but nothing at all is seen in the normal or preview screens.

Next I tried logging into my control panel for the site and went to the file manager, chose a file and went in to edit.. pasted the code, saved and viewed live and humm.. there is the whole string of code again.. no image and no link..

How can I get the affilliate banner/link generator to stop converting all that to hex???

When i generate a banner link it misses out the brackets/quotes as follows:

no, sorry and the affiliate thing is just npt working for me any way, so I let it go by the wayside..
