Hide Products for SPPC

I managed to implement the code changes, there were a couple of silly bugs where their sql overwrote existing oscmax code but although I can tell it to hide products, they still appear on the site.

Looks like I need to do a clean install and try again.

The main thing in implementing it is the instructions don't account for some logic being in the templates and some in the main php code so for things like catalog/categories.php, if you cannot find the code in the main file, look in your templates.

Well Mark,
You have made more progress than I have. Did you find what parts of the code were being problematic? I'm keen to get this working, but have had to use osCommerce with this patch installed as a temporary arrangement, which is causing me heartache elsewhere.

Can you send me a copy of your code and I'll see if I can work out the bugs?

Hi Steve

I never did get this working. What I did instead was to add code to hide categories/products from the site if the user was not part of a selected group. I can zip the code up for you to look at if you like. I'm going to be doing some work on the site over the next day or two so if I can find the exact code I'll try and document it.

Never blindly overwrite code in osCMax - if you have code conflict - feal free to post it here and we can carefully look at that. Combining differnt SQL command from several mods is not easy.

I write in php daily. My oscmax site has many extras. When I upgraded last time I ran visual diff on every file and ported my changes forward. The problem is that the spcc mod is for oscommerce not oscmax.
I don't overwrite code, I usually comment out what's there in marked blocks and then write mods.
