Default SaleMaker Mod

Has anyone successfully installed SaleMaker with osCmax? I have tried for several days but there are a lot of differences with the special pricing mod with osCmax. If you have it installed please help me out.

I am using osCMax v2.0 RC3

The SaleMaker mod is a necessary mod for a successful shop.

Maybe it would help if you posted a link to the contribution... or something, I have no clue on what mod is for.

And I am sure many many stores (like mine) are successfull without the "SaleMaker"mod, so I doubt it is "necessary"

The mod is a PITA (pain in the a..). Lot's of bad luck and broken installs. Doesn't work and play well with straight OSC and I saw a number of problems with derivitives when I did a google search.

It seems that people recomend advanced specials as a better alternative.

and really, there are any number of people here who have successful shops and don't have the mod. In fact, my guess is that having the mod will actually have no effect on sales if the shop owner is using specials in a proactive way. So The SaleMaker mod is a necessary mod for a successful shop. is a load of BS. Just my opinion, but then again I'm only doing about $400K in sales a year not using it.

SaleMaker has some 15 PHP documents to edit. It was a pain in the ass, and as expected, I didn't work at all. I went back through, and rechecked everything, it looked fine. I'm sure I missed something. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this one, too many changes.
I have some mod on my admin section that will allow me to discount all items on a category and so on. I remember I didn't need to touch almost anything, just add this on the admin section.
I wouldn't bother with SaleMod if you need to modify at least 15 existing files in order to get it to (maybe) work.
