Hello, I tried to install this contribution. I followed directions, everything was fine, I think everything was still fine when I "added new language" in "localizations", BUT, when I turned on my language infobox and tried to switch languages I get this error warning; Warning: require(includes/languages/French.php) [function.require]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/flutter/public_html/catalog2/includes/application_top.php on line 290 Fatal error: require() [function.require]: Failed opening required 'includes/languages/French.php' (include_path='.:') in /home/flutter/public_html/catalog2/includes/application_top.php on line 290 ........................... My admin still works fine... Please, I need help soon

I got my catalog back by putting my site "down for maintenence" and then re-activating it. I tried this a couple times and it seems to get me back to the english side of my catalog ?????? Then I tried to activate the "french language" again, and I got an "unexpected T-string error" in catalog/includes/french.php on line 309. I dont remember exactly what line it said, but it was 309 or 307. I dont want to lose it again so I will wait patiently for help... I really need the French Language here in Quebec. I hope someone can help me... Thanks, Terry.

Makes me wonder if you have copied your language files on the correct directories. QUoting: "and I got an "unexpected T-string error" in catalog/includes/french.php on line 309." "Failed opening required 'includes/languages/French.php" Your language file should be in /includes/languages , catalog/includes/french.php should not even exist.

You're right MindTwist, I must have been typing faster than I think - and believe me I 'm not very fast on the keyboard. I meant "catalog/includes/language/french.php". Anyway this problem has been solved. And to answer "clapat's" question. I am using version 2.0. I would like to help you but I'm just someone who is losing his eyesight going through these threads and post looking for the answers I need. from what I can tell sometimes it depends on the Browser you are using...

I just installed French Language Package, and I wanted to say that there ar a lot of mistakes in PHP, and I think that I will discover a lot more in the few days. That's not the big part of it, I there are a lot French mistake, we can clearly see that some translate it with google translate. For example when choose to put down the website for maintenance, the message displayed to customer means absolutely nothing ...So next time, if someone want to translate and does not know any French, do something. It a waste of time for everyone...

I am not sure I understand what is the problem with french language files. Translations are bad? Fix them. There is a missing \ ' or whatever somewhere? Fix it. A file is not on the directory where it should be? Move it. I mean, after all it is just TEXT files, come on... It's not so hard to check out the same english file and see exactly what the line is supposed to say if you do not know.

I also installed it, you just need to go to the line number and to put "\" in front of a simple quote on those lines. All the php string in these pfiles start with ' and end with ' (just before ; ), so if you find any ' before the end of the line ( ; ), put \ before to say that it is not the end of the line. I also want to say, that for some translation, it means absolutely nothing in french. Hope it will help
