Default Categories Problem !!!

Here's the deal subcategories won't show up if there are any products listed. I thought I found the problem in the catalog/index.php but no. I can put tons of subcategories in and it will work fine but if there is a categorie that has both a product listed and a subcategories then just the product appears and no sub categories. HELP

Michael,

I found the contribution you posted, and I have this problem as well... but in my Osmax 1.7 I'm having trouble figuring out which index.php to edit (if to edit the index_nested.php or the index_product.php or an other one as the files do not match the original php from oscommerce standar). Can you help me figure this one out ?
