Complicated Shipping Option in osCMax

Hi!

I haven't been here for a while but am trying osCMax again as I need an affiliate mod and hopefully that's built into osCMax.

Anyway, my problem is with shipping.
My client wants shipping like this:

Free shipping on a customers first order but must pay a flat rate shipping on additional orders.
Can this be done without the use of customer entered coupons etc.

To me it's a silly way of doing shipping but that's how they want it!!!

Failing that is it possible to edit the descriptions of shipping to `edge' them to choose the correct one:

eg:

Shipping Options:

I have never ordered before, this is my first order: $0.00
I am a repeat customer and have ordered before: $6.95

etc.

There is no contribution for this as a first order. But you could issue a credit for 2nd order without much modification. You could modify or create one - however I can see several ways you will have problems.

- Customer signs up for a new email
- Uses a slightly alterer name
- Uses a friend address
- Uses another CC etc....

Personally I would issue a credit for 2nd order.

You can set it so that every customer that registers receives a coupon/voucher. Set that so they received free shipping and set it to be used once.

This way all orders are charged shipping, but everyone gets a coupon for the shipping on the first order.

I haven't tried this, but think it would work for your issue.

I also can imagine everyone signing up again on every order, so they always get free shipping...
