Question Compatability oscommerce contribs for OSCMax

    Hi

Thanks to Michael I have a fully working and updated OSCMax and it gives me 98% of what I wanted, the key things being mopics and Ultimate URLs, but tons of other stuff, so officially thank you Michael.

    Now some questions...

    1) on my oscommerce store I had installed the Random Category Images contrib, which worked brilliantly, is this contrib compatible with mopics/OSCMax?

    2) I also installed the automatic thumbnail creator but I am assuming that this would need modding to make it not append the size to the filename, eg. 1234-100X80 and to force it to use the thumbs folder, the real nice thing about this contrib is the clever way that it adds white space to images if they are not wide enough to display properly, maybe one for the wish list Michael .

I would really like to reinstall the Random Category Image contrib but just need confirmation that it is compatible.

I did search for the answer but only found refs to oscommerce.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Met00

Thanks for the input, now I am either being really thick or am a little confused, when you say "have you tried to use the imagemagic contribution that comes with oscmax" are you saying that imagemagic already comes with OSCMax, is this a configuration thing I must turn on or off? or is it a seperate php I need to run, I can't find any reference to imagemagic in the osmax folders and I can't see any specific config option for it either.

    thanks

admin -> configuration -> image magic

First item in the configuration turns it on.

You should really read up about it in the osc forums. It can be very powerful.

Thanks for the pointer, but now I am really really being thick, I have OSCMax V2.0 and my config menu looks like this.

And I don't see anywhere any references to Image Magic, what am I missing?

OK, I don't need it anymore, but your help prompted me to do more digging and I found the issue, I had done several searches for Image Magic before posting this question, but I found a downloadable version of it, and right in the html help file was a comment about only setting max height or max width for images not both, I have reset the max height of my images to what I want and removed the figure for max width and hey presto it is all good.

    Thanks

I've been running ImageMagic on two osC2.2 sites and love it, so was happy to hear it was already configured into osCMax for a third site I'm building. However, when I installed osCMax 2.0 RC 3 yesterday, I too was unable to find ImageMagic and had to install from the standard osC2.2 files (hopefully it'll work!). Was ImageMagic purposefully removed from osCMax 2.0 RC3 for some reason?

I think met00 has customized his version... ImageMagick has never been part of osCMax, but it is a really easy addon...

I guess it's really necessary for me to keep notes... I don't remember adding it and my base is now so far from osCMax in some places it's not funny...

For example, here is the edit product for our admin - you can see that it has extended the standard product information quite a bit. (yes we do have a "monthly profit report" that uses the cost basis field, and yes, when you do a "special" it advises the margin and profit decrease and carries that to the report. And no, that one isn't getting released as an add-on.)

So, when I make an error, please be kind. We have a year of additional coding on this base and sometimes I forget what was the base...
