Paypal orders showing up in admin completely blank... help!

Im not sure why, but Im having about every other or every third order using paypal as a payment methos is showing up listed in the admin completely blank. The only thing showing is an incorrect order total and everything else is totally blank. no customer information, no order, nothing except for an order total of 3.

I have not made any changes or patches to the installation and the customers payment does show in paypal, but I cannot fill orders without the order detail.

Up until two days ago, paypal payments have worked flawlessly so Im not sure what to do or where to begin. If anyone has any idea or has seen this before, please let me know. I haven't found this problem described elsewhere in the forums so Im perplexed.

It seems the problem occurs when the customer does not hit the "return to merchant" website after confirming payment on the paypal site.

Once the "return to merchant" button is clicked, the order is then inserted into the database and available in admin to be printer, etc.

I've found a way to work around this for now by installing an order logging module from the contribs which will log the orders before the customer confirms them and allow me to capture the customers cart. Its kind of a fail-safe and not a real solution. The solution is to configure the IPN so that it works, but what to change will take a little more time to figure out.

I will install the order logging contribution this weekend and test it out. If anyone has anything else to add, please post it here.

I am having the same problem. About a week ago we started using the same paypal account to handle ebay transactions as well as the osCMax 1.7 site. I have the IPN in paypal setup. All has been working fine for many months. Now I see over 70% of the orders have no data returned. Nothing changed in setup. Are the ebay payments to paypal resulting in some type of half order returned by the paypal IPN? I attempted to install the "held orders v2.0" mod to log my orders, then found that one of the files did not match the modifications. So i reverted to the old files and dropped the added tables from the database. I hope I am not missing new sales. Can anyone recommend a mod for order logging that will work with osCMAX 1.7? Or even a Master Password contrib that will work? Should I attempt an upgrade to osC Max 2.2? Is it stable enough for a live store at this point? And can I transfer my existing database to it, including the customer logins and order data?
I am beside myself wondering what these blank orders are, and am trying to avoid doing something out of frustration that will only compuond my problems. For now I will just backup the entire site and database every few hours, and keep trying.

I am havgin the same issue, but when I look in the admin console it shows that no paypal IPN is being used and it doesn't give an option to create one.

How doI do so?
