Default RE: login to admin after first install

Most likely your sessions settings are not right.

Edit your admin/includes/configure.php and change the STORE_SESSIONS value to mysql. That should fix it.

Default RE: I can Login to Admin

I had a similar problem as described above where I could not login to Admin using admin@localhost.com and password admin. Instead of logging in I was getting "ERROR: Wrong username or password!". My sessions were set to mysql. I reinstalled and recreated the database several times. No Success! I finally got it working by going through the installation and double checking the default values. It turned out to be the default server path to my store was incomplete. I fixed it and Voila! It works!
