Default Can't Get Install.php To Execute

I am trying to install oscdox, but I can't get the install.php file to do anything. When I click on it in Internet Explorer or Firefox, the browser simply asks what program I want to use to open the file, or if I want to download it. Should I be using a telnet client to execute the file?

    Default RE: Can

Your server is not set up to use php. You need PHP, MySQL and Apache installed and running on the machine that is serving the pages.

My server must be set up to use php, since my server had their own version of oscommerce installed, and I was able to get it working, at least partially. I decided to see if Osmax would be easier to use.

Well, php files are parsed by the server, and if your server is trying to send them as downloads, it is not parsing them. You need to contact your host. This is not an issue with osCMax.

If a file ends in .php it will be parsed by the server if the server is properly configured. Since yours are not being parsed, you have a problem on your server...

one other question what did you use to upload your OscMAx ... it might have been set to transfer the files in the wrong mode ... which I believe would cause the same behavior. Just a thought
