Default wysiwyg editor not showing

Just did my first install. Very good.

Now for the mods.

I noticed with joy that there is a wysiwyg editor included in the OSCMAX store
but it is not showing in mainpage editor or product/catalog editing sections. Just a plain text box entry.

Yes I have already checked that under configuration/wysiwyg editor 1.7 all the options are set to "enable".

What could be missing?

Thanks in Advance

Janet

It only works with Internet Explorer. If you are using a mozilla based browser, it will not work.

Hi Michael,

Unfortunately it is not working for me with IE6.
does htmlarea come bundled with the MAX install, or do I have to install it separately?
Can you tell me what files to look for to verify that everything is in place (or missing?)

Thanks

It is installed and working. I use it with IE6 evreyday. You most likely have a security setting that is not allowing it to function. I have no idea what setting is causing it to fail for you, as it has always worked for me.

Thanks Goaskmom for the link.

I tried setting it to basic but still no joy.
Have viewed in IE5.5 and IE6 on a differnt computer but still cannot see it.
I tried logging into the demo admin account but the password given in the thread above does not get me in. Michael, do you have the latest userid and pw so I can verify on your installation?

Assuming it works on your installation, then it gets back to my server. Yes it may be a permissions problem but where? What file? What folder? What files should I look for to even verify that the install of the product has worked correctly?

Here's another update on this problem.

I did a "view source" on define_mainpage.php and it would seem that it is looking for a htmlarea folder within my /catalog/admin/ folder.

I have no such folder on my server.
On checking the unzipped download for OscMAX, there is no htmlarea folder in any of the files there either.
Something must be screwy in the unzip as the files are in the zip file.

Unzipped everything again and carefully loaded up the htmlarea folder into the admin/ folder.

All Good!

Thanks for all assistance.

Hi techmatters,
When I installed max into the root directory it worked fine - mydomain.com/
On another install, I used a sub directory - yourdomain.com/xyz & html editor didn't work.
I never found the answer however I assume the answer is in the config files of the editor.
Good luck.
