    Default apache2triad and osCMAX

    Hi everyone,

I have switch from Easyphp and install apache2triad on my local machine and it seens to be a pretty cool program but I can not find where to install my osCMAX so that I can work on it. When I try to open my localhost it does not open up my osCMAX website. Could someone point me in the right direction as to where I need to install osCMAX on apache2triad? I have done a search on this forum for any installation help on apache2triad and have not been able to find any. Thanks for all your help.

Put the /catalog folder in the /apache2/htdocs folder. Then go to http://localhost/catalog/

    Hi Michael,
I put the catalog folder as you suggested above and I can bring up localhost/catalog/install but when I try to do a new install I keep getting the following error message:

"A test connection made to the database was NOT successful.

    The error message returned is:

Can't connect to MySQL server on 'localhost' (10061)

Please click on the Back button below to review your database server settings.

If you require help with your database server settings, please consult your hosting company"

I am entering the info as follow:

    Database Server: localhost

    Database username: root

    Database password: (none)

    Database Name: (my database name)

can you tell me what I am doing wrong?

    Thanks for your help.

Did you actually create a database? You have to do this prior to running the install script.

Also, are you sure that the mysql service is running? Check this in administrative tools services.

Finally, 99% of the time there is actually a password required for the root user, and it was most likely specified by you when you installed apache2triad.

    Hi Michael,

Sorry to keep asking for help on this but I need help. OK I'm not sure if I created the database correctly, but now I can open up the website that I am working on and I can work on it with no problems but when I try to go to my admin. by going to http://localhost/catalog/admin the admin doesn't open up. All I get is a blank page. Also on the website that I am working on the menu is empty and none of the test products are there. Any ideas on what is going on here?
As always thanks for any and all help.

    Jose

    check the error logs first.

    http://localhost/catalog/admin/index.php

    Hi Michael,

Sorry it took so long to get back to you on this but time has been pretty tight lately which is why I need to get this working as quickly as possible. I have done as you stated above but I am still having the same problem. I even want so far as to completely uninstall and than reinstall apache2triad. I than made sure that I created the new database and than did a clean install of osCMax1.7 and the install went with no problems or errors. But after the install finish I can click on the catalog button and I can see the catalog but when I click on the administration button all I get is a blank page. I also try http://localhost/catalog/admin/index.php and I still get a blank page. Is there anything else that you can suggest? I surely would appreciated any and all help that you could offer. I also have looked at the error log and I could not find anything there either.
