Unable to connect to database server!

Just went through the install process ok, I can get to the osCommerce admin page ok and all other options except when I go to online catalog I get this error -
Warning: mysql_connect(): Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock'(2) in _______ .com/catalog/includes/functions/database.php on line 19
Unable to connect to database server!
I went to line 19 of database.php and it says - $$link = mysql_pconnect($server, $username, $password);
} else {
It appears it is trying to call up the server address, username, and password. I was wondering if this is a simple fix or where in the file manager this information is kept so I can check to make sure it is correct.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I did find on the Admin Control Panel under the tools section an option (server info) it appears that the information for the server is not correct. Does anyone know how to edit in that field? Thanks in advance.

Just edit the catalog/includes/configure.php database info to match the catalog/admin/includes/configure.php database info. That will fix it.
