Hi, I too am having trouble loggin in to my admin section with admin@localhost.com and pw: admin. Either, I cycle through this dialogue window over and over again, or I get the following: 1146 - Table 'sardines_OsCommerce.admin' doesn't exist select admin_id as login_id, admin_groups_id as login_groups_id, admin_firstname as login_firstname, admin_email_address as login_email_address, admin_password as login_password, admin_modified as login_modified, admin_logdate as login_logdate, admin_lognum as login_lognum from admin where admin_email_address = '' ____ I gather this has something to do with not finding my database? I'm confused because I had no trouble creating a database. Any advice would be deeply appreciated. Thanks, s

| Hi there, I too am having this trouble, except when I go to log in, it asks me for the log in and admin@localhost.com, Pass-admin does not work, then I enter just my username and usual password and I get: Warning: mysql_connect(): Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (2) in /hsphere/local/home/cienega/cienegacreek.com/catalog/admin/includes/functions/database.php on line 19 Unable to connect to database server And Im sure that the answer to this is somewhere here, so I will keep looking but I wanted to post here to let you know you are not alone. | s - the admin table is not in your database. Try running the installer again and watch for any error messages. You have not created the osCMax database correctly. Melissa, you either have a mysql server problem or your database is not correctly set up. Check your the name, username and password of the database that you set up to make sure they are correct.

Hi michael, thanks for the help, however, I have tried the username and password for my control panel, my login to the database is not an email address but I tried that as well, and I checked the username and password that is in my database for the admin and it said admin@localhost.com & admin for the password, so I went and tried that again and it did not work. any other ideas? melissa

I've had this same issue for a while now and still haven't had an opportunity to test this package out. I even went so far as to go into the database and try to manipulate the email and password. I thought I read someplace that osCMax was using MD5 encryption but changing it to a new encrypted password did not work. I'm going by memory here but the default password stored in the database doesn't seem to match what "admin" should once encrypted. MD5 admin = "21232f297a57a5a743894a0e4a801fc3", stored pass = "05cdeb1aeaffec1c7ae3f12c570a658c:81" I gave up a few times only to come back, reinstall, and try it again. Same scenerio each time... can't log in to the Admin side due to "ERROR: Wrong username or password!" Ok.. back to the database. Manually change the email address, try to log in, click forgot password hoping to have the pass sent to me... and boom "ERROR: first name and password not match!" (What's it mean First name and password? I didn't give it a pass to check? Seems it should verify the First name and email address in the db and send... it doesn't though). Not sure what I'm missing, I have a few live shops running osCommerce and haven't had much trouble. This issue has me stumped however and I've found no solution to it on the forums.

Hi, I had this problem too, whereby I kept trying to log in to Admin Panel using admin@localhost.com and admin pwd and the page just kept refreshing. The only way around it was to 'drop' my empty database (I'm using EasyPhp/Apache) and start again with a fresh install. The second time around I chose the Database option rather than Files for my Session Storage, now I can log in to Admin Panel and I have zero error messages. I don't know if there is a quicker way, but this was the best route I found. Hope the rest of you have some luck. Regards, Michelle

I had a similar problem, not being able to login, and my solution was to: 1. Create the MySQL database in cpanel (or however else you create yours) 2. THEN install oscmax (catalog/install/) Just a thought.
