Default does max need to install a new dbase?

hi all,

i am trying to install this software through my isp, which has assigned me a database.

i, for some reason, cant connect to it through the install script, even though all settings are correct. It returns "host athena is not allowed"

if i install oscommerce through my isp, everything goes fine. it actually installs to the "cgi-bin" directory.

perhaps i should be installing there?

very confused....

please if anyone can advise....

Tim.

First - I would speak with your HOST provider's tech support....
Second - Which version of OSC is it trying to install? Have you looked at the MAX version?
Third - this is in the WRONG forum... This is for Document discussion. Not that we would come down hard on you.

OSC is better installed on a blank/fresh database. Reusing a database from another application or DUPLICATE database installs - can muck up things quite a bit. Clear out the DATABASE or use a fresh (clean) database. ONLY IMPORT the data ONCE!

Which screen or after what entry did you get this error?
