Default Install locally on C:\ Drive

Hello Everyone,

Can anyone tell me or point me in the direction that can explain to me how I could install oscommerce locally on my pc. I would like to set it up locally before publishing it with a hosting company, I would also like to know what would be the best software to edit the look and color of the oscommerce template.

Any help would be great.

Thanks

Look at LAMP or WAMP or Triad (search this site or use GOOGLE) package for loading an easy package that loads Apache/MySQL/PHP(and some have phpMyADMIN - that is mentioned and used offten with OSC)

Basically - make your PC a webhost (ie: http://localhost or also called http://127.0.0.1).

Install OSC as normal. - If you have problem with Windows then search this forums for "IUSR" on properly setting up WINDOWS SECURITY on folder/files.

Good Luck

Here's a link to the php/mysql/apache downloads, there is complete easy to follow instructions there. This is how I did it, with NO prior osc experience! I used the install instructions that came with my original bare bones version of osc (before I found max!)

Good Luck!
