Affiliate signup problem

Hello,
I have a problem with affiliate_signup on my max 1.7 store: when a new affiliate signs up, after clicking continue, the same page (affiliate_signup.php) reappears with the affiliate details entered, but thats it, it doesnt complete the signup procedure.
I tried to compare the affiliate_signup.tpl.php with the latest max v2, and i noticed a difference in line 1:
v1.7: <?php echo tep_draw_form('affiliate_signup'....
v2: <?php echo tep_draw_form('affiliate_details',...
but even after changing 'affiliate_signup' to 'affiliate_details' still the same, and affiliate cannot complete the signup.
Any ideas?

I have found the problem. I removed the gender from affiliate_contact_details because i didnt need it, but apparently without choosing gender the account cannot be created. since i dont have the time now to find the correct place to modify, i will leave it there.
