    Default File permissions problem

I installed the How did you hear about us mod and not quite sure what happened, but I am gettnig this error when I go to admin to add permissions.

Warning: dir(): SAFE MODE Restriction in effect. The script whose uid is 516 is not allowed to access /var/www/html owned by uid 0 in /home/virtual/site13/fst/var/www/html/dev/admin/admin_files.php on line 235

Warning: dir(/var/www/html/dev/admin/): failed to open dir: No such file or directory in /home/virtual/site13/fst/var/www/html/dev/admin/admin_files.php on line 235

Fatal error: Call to a member function on a non-object in /home/virtual/site13/fst/var/www/html/dev/admin/admin_files.php on line 237

SECONDLY, while trying to fix it, I deleted the Adminstration box that says File Access from the admin menu....

I am logged in as adminstrator so there should be no restrictions...

    Any suggestions?

    Pete

Mike, any ideas on this? It sounds pretty complicated but wondering if this is a problem with oscmax or ???

    Thanks.

    Default RE: File permissions problem

Looks like a php safe mode issue to me. PHP should not be in safe mod with osCommerce or osCMax. Check file permissions and ownership. If you uploaded the files as the root user, and then are trying to access them as a regular user, you can get errors like this. Change file ownership to the user that is running them.

It is a server setup/permissions problem or you have made a mistake with the installation of the mod.
