Gift Voucher/Discount Coupons Questions

greetings-

i've read the documentation about setting up the GV and Coupons sections but i keep running into a couple issues. can someone please help?

first, i tried to establish a Discount Coupon which is sent to new subscribers of the cart (when they create account), in the amount of 5% off their first purchase. from the Admin page of the cart i can view the coupon amount (admin>vouchers/coupons>coupon admin) and it shows up as 5.0000%. however, when i click on "Gift Vouchers sent", all of my "test" subscriptions show up there as a $5 value under Voucher Value. so is it possible to create a discount coupon that is for a Percentage, rather than Dollar value? Also, since i set it up as a Coupon, why does it continue to show up under the Gift Voucher section of Admin? and can i delete those 4 "test" vouchers from the "Gift Vouchers Sent" page of admin? i don't see a delete button there.

next, on to the Gift Voucher part of my headaches.... has anyone amended their Gift Voucher FAQ in such a way that i could look at them to compare or perhaps "borrow" the content? the text that's on those pages doesn't match up at all with what actually happens when i try to purchase a Gift Voucher. yes, i have them set us as GIFT_25, GIFT_50, etc.....

how does a customer SEND a voucher to a friend when they are purchasing? i currently have the cart set up so i must verify the purchase before they are credited the amount..... but i'm not seeing how i can send it to someone...

okay, i bumbled my way into figuring out how to SEND the voucher to someone and i sent it to myself at another email address. when i click the link in the message, it takes me to the cart's index page but there is some strange HEADER_TEXT, or HEADER_INFO stuff at the top of the page... it doesn't load the actual contents of index page in the center of the page, but every other "piece" is there (column_left, column_right, header and footer). any ideas what that is?

then, i logged into a different page via another browser (since that page seemed broken) added an item to my cart and tried to checkout. on the checkout page, i entered the gift voucher code in the Credits Available section and clicked Redeem. my voucher now appears in the right column where it shows the content of my cart, but i can't seem to actually checkout. do i still need to enter a valid credit card number, even though the item i selected is less than the value of the voucher? and does the remainder of the credit (voucher) still remain after this purchase or must it all be used in one purchase? whew.... time for a bottle of bourbon.....
