Voucher & Coupon Tax Problem

Ive edited the credit class for coupons and vouchers to have the option to discount individual products. Instead of just taking off the total a single discount. examble a 10$ coupon could be good for 3 products so really the discount ends up being 30$ etc. So My code works great; the problem is restriction. When i goto restrict the coupon to only work for a certain categories or products the discount is still taken off, but tax is calculated with the orignal subtotal and not being recalculated like it is when theres no restriction. So I though it was me, so i uploaded my back up copy of the orginal file for the coupon and vouchers code. I set up another test coup[on with restriction to one categorie witha discount of 10$. I went and picked a product, no go. 10$ discount tax not recalculated. So I took the restriction off. BOOM! 10$ discount and tax was recalculated. So I've been looking at the code now for a day and im stumped. Ive been changing things moving things around, adding new code. No luck, Can anyone help?? Or has anyone not noticed this itsy bitsy problem yet?

have you checked the sort order in admin > modules > order total and made sure tax and gift vouchers are in the correct order?

never touched them. Everything is default. THe only things i change is the admin options for the vouchers themselfs.

change the sort order of "tax" to be higher than that of both vouchers and coupons in admin. realistically it should be the second to last line item with shipping and total the only two things which come with a hgiher sort order.

It's already up like that except the shipping. I just confirmed that.

OK now I checked and I do believe it is working. Ill let you know.
