TEXT_MAIN and MAINPAGE_TEXT together

I see that TEXT_MAIN is still in the /includes/languages/english/index.php file... How can one cause this to work again?

I had both working before I switched to MAX...

It is no longer used in max. Go to Define MainPage in the admin under Configuration and enter your custom text there.
