CVV for osC MR2 1.0 question.

Im in the process of setting up MS2-MAX for a friend of mine and have it largely under control. The site owner will be manualy processing CC's by entering the details into his accounting software which REQUIRES the CC security code. This has led me to the "CVV for osC MR2 1.0" contribution. I do however have a couple questions before I modify my files.

1)I have read storing the CVV is illegal. WIth that in mind I see that the contribution adds a DB field to store this data. What kind of implications does this contribution present?

2) It looks as if this contribution does nothing more than supply field for collecting the CVV, is this true? Is there another contrib for setting up a dropdown for CC types accepted that works well with this contrib or adds its functionality with the added CC selection functionality?
