| I'm looking for a mod that will do the following:- Allow customers to create an account using only name, e-mail and password. When they come to order something, they are prompted to enter there address details, which is then processed by the checkout. I'm currently using MAX1.5 with pwa and have tried a few things, such as setting the minimum values for the address details etc to zero. This only causes problems when you go to the checkout, and there's no address. You can add one using the address book, but this seems like an extra step, I'd like them to just be able to enter their details on the page, which are then stored with the account. Any ideas..? thanks. |

| Nothing ready made - custom hack needed... You will have to put something like an IF statement if address is blank goto modify_customer_details etc....

| I'm considering removing the account creation bit altogether, and just let customers use the checkout feature of pwa. Has anybody done this and noticed an improvement? |

| noticed an improvement? surely the way your store runs is your personal preference. Personally, I think my store is great but then, someone else may disagree and think theirs runs better. If you want to skip registration, then go for it. Personally, I think this would make things more confusing for the customer. Have you considered having two seperate registration pages, one simple and one not so simple? I initially used this method with both pages based on the original and manually editing out the input boxes for the simple version on the page the customer sees. It's a long job and it's not straightforward... if it's not broken, don't try and fix it |
