Default blanket discount applied to ALL purchases at checkout

I have a potential customer for setting up an OSC store (which I have half a dozen others and have had nothing but success!) and they have some IMO strange needs.

They sell jewelery mainly to customers through sales reps. They have all hand written order forms faxed and handwritten to photocopied invoices (been running this way for 4 years too), and no inventoy methods (also years).

I am trying to fit OSC into their process so that their reps (and eventually customers themselves) can order directly online through OSC and and use it for their inventory as well. They are small enough that I think that the reports and stock handling features in OSC are quite adequate to do what they need. Also we are moving their existing ecom site that consists of interdependent perl scripts and mutiple access DBs and the designer and maintainer is on permanent disability and addicted to pain killers... not a good combination, up side is there is no way to do worse!

The quirk is this. They HAVE TO have a 50% blanket discount applied to ALL purchases at checkout (or a last line item). Like this

Code:
item 1     10.00
item 2     10.00
item 3     10.00
item 4     10.00
item 5     10.00

subtotal = 50.00
discount 50% = 25.00

total = 25.00
That is how it has to be and they arent gonna budge. Also, some customers will get an additional up to 30% off that I believe they want to appear as another line item as well, though I might be able to convince the discount be combined on the subtotal. Even for orders place by the reps it has to show this because the invoice generated by OS in orders module is going to be their invoice and packing slip.

So, Has anyone run into anything like this? Does anyone know of a contrib already made that does this (I have gone through the contribs and havent seen anything quite like it.

I have used AABox osCMAX on the last couple stores and had good success but would like to know the communities opinion on it.

Thanks for all the support in the past, this is the first time I have not found the answer simply by searching and reading posts.

Default Not exactly

These are all good mods but... they all seem to apply the discount to the catalog prices.

As i said it has to apply at checkout. All prices must bee full price and then a discount applied with the checkout process.

I have seen these mods and the descriptions all say the discount is reflected in the catalog and at login. This wont work. I know there are old mods from before ms1 but somewhere in there (I just cant remember when sometime november 2001?) the checkout process was rewritten making the old mods defunct.

Do you or anyone else know of a mod that applies a discount to checkout not browsing?

I remember this one. I had this in my osc modules folder too, I was thinking it was too old. I see there have been updates since, I must've had one of the original versions.

I am gonna give it a try this morning.

Thanks!
