New Products Section Update Fix

A while ago, as in a Long While ago ( year or so ) someone posted a fix to the New Products function, I searched the forums for 2 hours and can't find the info. I'm using osCMax v1.7 and the cart displays products in the new products section that have been in the system for a year or more. I believe this fix made it so it only displayed products that were added this month. Can someone point me in the right direction.
