I found this in a thread on the aabox.com forums using Google: " AABox Admin AABox Admin is offline Forum Administrator Join Date: Dec 2003 Posts: 26 If you are curious as to why weight is still important, it is because a weight of zero is used to specify a virtual product like a gift certificate or a download. osCMax sees a zero weight and automatically assumes that the product in question is not something that is shipped (download or gift voucher)." I wish it were so....my customers are still being charged the handling fee when they buy zero weight items. How do I get the system to quit charging the handling fee when the total weight in the shopping cart is zero? Thanks, Ken

I ended up having to fix this through the shipping costs table: 0:0,1:6,2:7, etc. To force zero weight orders to not have shipping. Hope that this is fixed in 2.0.

I copied over my shipping and zones settings from my old store, and I was still getting shipping charges on virtual items, with 0 weight. The one pound was coming from Configuration, Shipping/Packaging, Package Tare weight was 1. Ken
