i know it starts a sessionid and continues to work until session is deleted/browser closed.
but cant fix it

removed top template switcher by renaming common_top_bts.php



tried these;no good

Tried a cache tmp directory pointed to it in admin
checked/changed permissions on files and directires
and followed numerous other instructions on forum
still no good

it cant be that hard

just noticed that it doesn't work on a fresh install too

Is that really the case? A fresh install does the same thing?

If so, can you tell us about your server? Version of PHP, MySQL, Apache, etc?

i installed another, but this time installed straight into public_html and not a subfolder

and removed

from file main_page.tpl.php without making any other changes
and it worked.

Question is how much of a change can we do to main_page.tpl.php?

Is there a complete documentaion that i can download for osc max? some
links on oscdox aren't working like wiki etc

for the how-to on what you can change in main_page.tpl.php, search for "BTS" on forums.oscommerce.com

Basic Template System is what that file from... note that this is completely different from the STS, or Simple Template System... ignore that.
