can osCMax v2 do custom product fields?

Why doesn't the Text Field Name show on the checkout page? It only shows the user Entry as follow:

Field Name: REQUEST DATE.

User enters: 10/05/2005

Checkout Page shows: -10/05/2005 instead of REQUEST DATE: 10/05/2005.

The drop down fields work fine. Why is that??
