Is there anywhere on this site where I can demo osCMax v2.0 RC1? I would like to see the front and backend interfaces before I download.
Thanks,
Chris

No, no demo will be put up until the final version is ready. If you want to demo it, just download it and install it locally.
It is not that hard. See this:

Thanks, but I don't have time to install and configure something I may not use. I would think a demo site would be an easy thing for you to provide and would make potential users very happy.
Is there a demo site for the previous version?
Nope. Like I said, no demo until the final version is out. No demo of the previous version either. If you can't help yourself, you are outta luck for now.
We could not offer a demo of the admin anyway, too much of a security risk. To make it secure, we would have to cripple it - remove all the neato features that you want to test, which kinda defeats the purpose.

If you have ever installed something alike (like osC or a php/mysql based cms for example), installing it only takes a couple of minutes.Originally Posted by chrismole
Instaling Apache/PHP/MySQL etc.. for local use is a snap with a "WAMP package" for Windows - most have an ON/OFF switch so you may only run it as needed and does not take much to install or UNINSTALL. Many can be installed in 1 or 2 Mins (it normally takes longer to download that to install).
Just stay away from the PHP5 versions (not stable- it work but I had to change ONE thing in MAX 1.7 for it to work).
Note: REGISTED GLOBALS must be turn ON... (FOR AMY WAMP/MAMP/LAMP package out there). In all php.ini files look for and change register_globals = Off to register_globals = On
Suggested WAMP packages:
EasyPHP (works great - no brainer install and on/off switch!)
http://www.easyphp.org/?lang=en
Apache2Triad (they use to say "installs and is running in 30 sec")
http://apache2triad.net/
PHP Triad for Windows (I have not tried)
http://sourceforge.net/projects/phptriad/
WAMP Server: (I have not tried)
http://www.wampserver.com/
Apache Friends XAMPP (I have not tried)
http://www.apachefriends.org/en/xampp.html
PHP EasyWindows Installer (Work great)
http://phplens.com/phpeverywhere/easywindows
OR...If you have a MAC try a MAMP package:
MAMP (Mac Apache MySQL PHP)
http://www.mamp.info/
And much more is available for WAMP, MAMP and LAMP too....
Download - Install - turn on or run the WAMP - then load your browser and load it up by typing in http://localhost
Done!
Good Luck!
