Help! Downloads stopped working & the admin is stumpted. I have a high traffic live site that sells legal downloadable products in zips.
We've started hosting with servermatrix.com and everything there worked fine. We then went to 1and1.com for a cheaper managed dedicated server but had problems with the SSL not working and resolved to move. So, we went back to servermatrix and hired an admin to manage the server; however to my horror, after I transfered the server to the new servermatrix server, a customer purchased a download and was unable to download the file ... well sort of.
You see, instead of receiving the 90mb file he paid for, he received an empty 500KB or 600 KB empty zip which windows said was corrupted.
When I did the transfer I exported the mysql database and imported it through ssh and made no changes to it. I also did an exact file copy download and uplaod so again there were no changes. It has to be something different with the new server but what??
Turning off download by redirect is not an acceptable alternative as it does not show the total file size of the download and will frustrate those with slower internet connections wondering "how much longer."
I tried installing a fresh latest build oscmax install and it too has the problem on this new server, so I know it's the new server. I pay a well known company on webhostingtalk to manage the server and they too are stumpted.
Does anyone have any ideas what might be missing on the new server that existed on the previous servermatrix server and previous 1and1 server?
Thanks in advance
