Fsock errors with SMTP mail... whaaaat?

I get the following blow-up message when I do anything that involves the server sending mail (lost passwords, etc)

Warning: fsockopen(): php_network_getaddresses: getaddrinfo failed: Name or service not known in /var/www/dadahaus/store/includes/classes/class.smtp.inc on line 87

BUT, the email does get sent out.
I have no clue how to fix this, is there anyway from keeping it from blowin up in an ugly way?

There is no such file in stock OSC or MAX - is there something you added or changed?

ooooh it was an addon I setup a while ago when I was having SMTP problems. I bet that's the culprit.

And of course, that was like 7 backups ago, removing it will be fun... *sigh*
