Default Screwed up my site, any suggestions?

Hey guys..

I was playing around with a bunch of pages trying to figure out how to do some stuff and I ended up with the graphics screwed up. So I started reuploading things trying to get it to fix itself... after I did this the site wouldn't display with an error in the database.php file. I think it somehow lost the info on how to connect to my database. I renamed my whole catalog directory and reuploaded another one. Is there any way to copy a specific file(s) in order to get all of my products back without re-entering them? I used my old database when I reuploaded and installed again.

If anyone has any suggestions I would appreciate it! The only part of the site I had really made progress on was adding the products to it.

Thanks!

Hi.
If you haven't touched the database (like reinstalling), you must only insert database data* :
* - localhost
- database_username
-database_password
-database_name

this information must be added to :
- catalog/includes/configure.php

Assure that the permissions after the changes are 644.
Good Luck.

Ok.. I tried everything you said and double checked the configure.php file to make sure the info was in there (All with the newly installed site). None of the previously entered products are showing up in the admin catalog or the site. Is there something I have to do to *import* the data? Should I start planning on re-entering everything?

Thanks for your help!! )

Hi

This may seem a silly thing to say, but have you tried a full reload, of a your most recent copy

This worked for me on several occasions
