How to add extra fields on products!

Hi !
I am a new user of oscommerce and oscmax. I want to make an online bookstore, so while addind new products, I want to enter Author, ISBN, etc. fielsd on the products. I am able to add these extra fields after downloding the contribution for oscommerce, but I want to do the same using OSCMAX. I am using OSCMAX v1.7, so somebody please help me to guide how to configure this.

I tend to recommend

but most are about the same.....This contribution is more of a HOW TO - With MAX you have to edit the files manually and add what you need.

Note: BTS moves some parts into the template directories - you may have to "search" for a part of the code to find what needs to be edited.
ALSO NOTE: MAX already modified much of the same code so it may be different but yet should start much the same and be around simular code.

DON'T Blindly copy in a contribution file into MAX - it will surly break it!
