Default Resetting Customer Password

I have a customer who's forgotten their password and for some reason, they are not getting the "forgotten password" email. I have tested that and it works for me, so I'm assuming it's getting filter out as spam to him, and he doesn't appear to know much about all of that.

So, I'd like to reset his password and email it to him. So, I went into the DB, into the "Customers" table, wiped out his encrypted password and entered one of my own, then tried to log in as him. It told me that my password/email wasn't valid.

I've searched this forum and the oscommerce forum, but I haven't been unable to find a method for doing this.

Should I just delete his account and have him set it up again? Or is there a simple way to do this. Seems very simple (and probably is), but I'm missing the boat on this one.

Default RE: Resetting Customer Password

When I do this, I will change the customers email to my address, and then I go to the login screen and click the forgot password link. It then sends me the new password. I then go back into the db and change the email address back to the customers.

Test the new login. If it works, just email the new password to the customer directly.
