Default Which PayPal IPN to load?

    Hi All,

I'm just about to start adding PayPal to my site. I have read in the forum that V1.7 is too much trouble to use and to load a newer version. I just downloaded 3.0a, but before I start is there any advice on the best version to use?

    Thanks in advance,
    DerekJ

The 1.1 version put out by the osC team is the easiest to install. You will have to remove the module currently installed though.

Default Two questions on this topic...

    Michael,

I am at the point on my site where I am ready to implement the PayPal IPN set-up. (I am using 1.7)

Question 1: When I go to Osc and download the 1.1 version, are there DIFFERENT instructions for implementing it in osCMAX?

Question 2: When you say remove the prior module, are you referring to an action I would do from the osCMAX admin menu?

    Thanks,

    Lobo

    Lobo,

    1. No, the install instructions are the same. It does not modify any core files.

    2. You need to disable the current paypal mod in the admin, plus you need to physically remove the old paypal files and any mods from your core files. The best way to do it is to download the original 1.7 mod for osCMax (from the forums here) and do a file compare to find where the changes are. It is not as difficult as it may sound.

Default Thank you for the feedback.

    Michael,

I will dig into this tonight. It seems as though it may be even easier for me since I first started with 1.7 (didn't upgrade from a previous version) and I haven't even started to set-up PayPal yet. My PayPal IPN stuff should be in "out-of-the-box" condition.

I'll cross my fingers and dig in later.

    Thx,

    Lobo
