Default Modify Categories Description with wysiwyg

I have installed oSCMax and begun creating and modifying my site. Nice work! I first tried adding contributions to OSCommerce and ran into too many problems. oSCMax has already saved me a ton of time.

I would like to customize the text and add pictures to my category descriptions. I was able to add my own text through the admin panel, but I don't see any way to change the text styles, colors, etc. for this page only, and add pictures. From the reading I have done, I thought I could do it using wysiwyg, just like the mainpage, but I have not found any way to use wysiwyg on this page.

Can I edit the categories description with wysiwyg, or by any other method? If so, how? If not, where is the category description text stored? I will just go there and change it manually.

    Thanks for the help,

I have this same problem. There is a thread about it somewhere on here. Try this- go into the WYSIWYG setup and make sure that all the WYSIWYG settings for emails, descriptions, etc. is set to "basic" and not "advanced". When mine is on advanced, it shows none of the good stuff. When it's on basic, it shows most all of it. Try that. If that works, then the problem is something on your server that's not set right. I never found out what, so I never fixed mine either.

Thanks for the reply and suggestion. I have searched the forums and didn't find anything that would help. Perhaps I missed it.

Tried setting everything to basic, but that didn't work either. I notice that in the wysiwyg configuration, only options to enable are product descriptions, customer emails, newsletter emails, and define mainpage. All of these are set to enable and I can edit each one of those, but nothing else. Anyone know of a way to add more pages to wysiwyg? Any other suggestions?

    Default One possible solution

Well, I found out one way to do it, a way probably everyone else but me knew about

If you paste HTML code into the category description box rather than plain text, it will display the text (and pictures) as defined by the HTML code. You can use any HTML editor to produce the code, including FrontPage, then copy and paste it in. If you use images, make sure they are present in the folder where you call them from.

This isn't as clean and neat as using wysiwyg, but it works & now I can go on to the next problem
