Default Strange Problem, losing config. forced ssl?

Heya folks.
I've been using osc for years and consider myself at least somewhat knowledgable with it, but I am having the strangest problem all of a sudden on a site I am developing.

I've been tinkering with this site for a couple months now on and off and all of a sudden now when I hit the site, 9 out of 10 times it "appears" as if it is losing the configure.php file.

All of the images are red x's of dewm, and all links are missing what should be HTTP_SERVER in configure.php.

Hit the site, if it looks normal, refresh a couple of times and the problem should present itself.

Site link

Links are all pointing to http:///yaddayaddaetcetc instead of http://myhttpserver/yaddayaddaetcetc if you get my drift.

I have ssl disabled and don't want to use it for testing of the site.

Whenever I define https_server, it seems to find *some* of the images, and all the links work. Here's the question...

Does it ignore "ENABLE_SSL" and use the https_server if it is defined or what? This is the first time I have come across this issue.

Oh, php.ini works for the dozen or so other osc sites I host fine. Nothing has changed as far as I can tell. I own the server. Its not a shared box so I know no one else has been messing with it.

Edit: BAH!! jesus christ. maybe its me but it seems to be working properly all of a sudden. someone else hammer on it and see if it bombs for you please

Default RE: Strange Problem, losing config. forced ssl?

You should check your connectivity and server loads. This could easily be caused by high load, packet loss or other network issues. Don't always assume it is the application causing the problem. Intermittant problems like you are describing are almost always caused by packet loss or high server load.

No such problems when I visit the site. Fast and clean pages loading. All images and styles look good!

Thanks for the quick reply and compliments msasek

One question though.

Does it in fact try to use https_server once you define it, even if you have enable_ssl set to false?

I've always used ssl in the past and havent had to worry about it. I was just curious.

No,

If SSL is set to false, it will not use the https url at all.
