Default SSL & Multiple stores?

Hi All

I am currently setting up two online stores backmttradingcompany.com & backmtsports.com. They will have a seperate database but here is my question if I purchase a SSL cert instead of using my hosts shared cert would I need to buy one for each store or just one and use it for both? I am not sure if there is a way to do this.

If you want the ssl domain name to match both sites, then you will need to purchase 2 separate certs, and run both sites on separate IP addresses.

You can also buy one cert and share it between the 2 sites, depending if your host allows it. Make sure you use a generic domain name that you own, so it doesnt look like one site is tranferring sales to another. That could lose you a lot of sales.

Thanks for the reply I think it should look OK because the backmtsports.com site actually run under the Back Mountain Trading Company name. Kind of a like a division of Back Mountain Trading Company. So if I am thinking correctly the URL would look like this https://backmttradingcompany.com/backmtsports
