New Visa card numbers problem

Hey everyone,
Hope this discussion helps others avoid my latest headache.
I installed osc ms2-max1.5.5, and added the echo payment module,

I have been running this configuration for months now, and no problems until now.(http://store.reptileron.com)
We had someone with a 4888 visa card number, that got an error message. I discovered that this is a known problem but is fixed in CVS by disableing credit card verification inside OSC. They replaced the cc_verification.php wiht a drop down box to select visa/mc in cvs. I need to know if this is an error caused by one of the mods I've installed, or if anyone else runnign ms2-max can't process 4888 visa numbers

well, since one person has voted,
and since that person is on this forum,
I would have to assume, since thye didn't comment,
that they are using ms2 max 1.5, and they are not having new visa number problems.
thus leading me to believe it is one of my add on modules,
so, I have set up another domain, with ms2 max 1.7, and I will add my openecho merchant module,
and see if straight ms2 has the problem. I'll post back within the week with results.

I don't think so, these jackas.... read the problem, have the problem; but do not put any input at all. I have the very same problem you describe. I installed the latest 1.7 version and it rejected my own visa at test. Please post back on your results and the solution to it.

I haven't had any luck yet,
and by no response, I figured no-one else had the problem,
so it was one of the add-ons I did. My next experiment is to put up a test website,
and install the echo module,
and see if I still have the problem. If not, I will know it is a plugin,
and try to narrow it down.


I use Echo processing,
I added on multi vendor shipping,
and browse by category.

I couldn't believe no-one else has had this. I saw a couple of threads on the main oscommerce forum, but no backwards solution. They fixed it in the main code by replacing the way it works.

I tried looking at the code,
and it looks like it should work,
so I have no idea what is causing it.
