Default controlling text width in right/left columns.

I realize the templates that come with max are just guides to creating your own but at the moment thats a bit over my head so I am trying to familiarize myself with existing templates to get a better feel for it.

With that being said, when I view my current site in IE all looks good, but if I use netscape or mozilla it appears that the text in the left column is not being contrained at all and it is simply extending the width of the column, which of course throws everything else off. In IE if a categories wording is too long it will simply move some of the words down to a new line thereby keeping column width, but in netscape/mozilla it does not do that. Looking for some advice on the best way to solve this, Can someone give me a nudge in the right direction?

Well, did some more playing around and what I originally thought was the text stretching the column apparently is not. Apparently its in the tables and IE handles them differently than Netscape/mozilla but I just cant figure out where the problem is or how to remidy it..

May as well keep my progress documented to help others like myself. It turns out the left column is being skewed due to the size of the manufacturers drop down box. I commented out its section in column_left.pgp" to remove it from the left column and sure as shootin, the site looked great under mozilla and netscape, wasnt skewed at all.

Hi,

You can alter the length of the manufacturers name in the drop down box in config/max length/length of manufacturers name (I changed it from 15 to 13 and it fixed it for me).
