Default Purchase without an account not available?

I am using the MS2-MAX 1.7 package I downloaded a few days ago. There is an option in the Admin to allow a user to order without creating an account first.

Whether I set it to true or false it still does not show the option when checking out. Any ideas?

Thanks,
Sam

This works in the aabox template but when I change to the osC template, no show.

this is interesting. i just installed MS2-MAX 1.7 today. i saw that admin option, checked it to true.
seems it only allows checkout using aabox like you say.

I read all over about trying to see how it works. I did read that it will be part of 1.8--which isn't out yet...
so maybe it just slipped into 1.7 in one template by mistake.

now here's the interesting thing...I went to my test store, with one test product. no accounts yet...added that fake product to my cart, proceeded to check out, was warned that no info was saved. checked out anyway. (testing) after i "bought" the item, i noticed that i could "log off" in the navigation bar. hmmm.
i then closed my browser, came back to my store and tried "my account" i hit the forgot my password,
and entered the email address i used...a new password mailed to me and i see my whole account was saved. i am now a fake customer in my test store. !
so i guess purchase without an account really means create an account without getting a password

I'm just getting this cart set up after creating a disaster with osc2.2 ms2+b2b. this one seems very nice.
