Problems displaying atr. 777 images...

I noticed a strange thing this morning - some of the products images are not displayed (neither thumbs nor bog images). I have found out images with attributes "777" are not displayed but images with attributes "640" are displayed correctly. Why images with full rights for everybody -777- are nto displayed?

I thing this could by cased by changing the sttings of the server where my page is hosted, because when I try to overwright old image with new one with the same name, I get something like this (and this didn't occur before):

I am not sure if there was Safe Mode set on the webhosting server before.

But I still cannot understand why my images with attributes 777 are not shown..

Do you have any ideas?
