What's NEW in MS2-MAX 1.7

I just went to get a fresh download from AABOX and realized it's MAX 1.7!

What's new / implemented in 1.7?

Hi,

1.7 is not an 'official' release, it is a stopgap leading to the 1.8 release.

It has all the bugfixes and extra addon packages that have been released for max since v1.5.5. Instead of having to patch v1.5.5 with the updates from the forum, v1.7 has them all applied. There is no upgrade package to update an existing v1.5.5 shop, since if you have been keeping up with the patches, you already have a v1.7

Nothing too exciting. I will be repackaging it in a couple of days with a few more improvements.

Not exciting, but it'll save me quite some time as I don't have a clean and patched install ready to go!!! As always, you're the man, Michael!

Please post an update here for me, when you repackage it (in a couple of days)--I'll go ahead and download it again.

What IPN for Paypal do you have integrated with 1.7+...?

It should be the IPN v1.7 that is posted in the forums. Let me know if it isnt ... that means I packaged the wrong dir tree...

Is IPN v1.7 still one of the most stable releases of that contribution? Or should I look at patching up to one of the newer releases?

PayPal IPN 1.7 is already outdated. That mod has been developing and improving very fast. I think it is up to 2.6 already.

You should probably upgrade. I will be including the latest version in the official release (no release date yet. Hit a few snags with some of the code...)

Okay, Michael; I'll build the test site on MAX 1.7 and patch it up to IPN 2.6 then. By official release you mean 1.8?

Well... I broke a few things. Some of his line edits didn't make sense in the contributors instructions for the 2.6a IPN. I think it may be because the BTS system is installed on MAX1.7, so some of the 'before' lines of code he had were different or not there. I'm gonna try to pick my way through cleaning up some of the files, but I'm not real strong as a PHP developer so I may just wipe and start again with the MAX1.7 to start working on the template design...


...and wait for Michael to get MAX up to the 2.6a IPN level :: wink:: wink:: :: nudge:: nudge::
